New to Counseling
If you’ve never used our services before, please log in to your Student Health Portal?and request to meet with a counselor.
Existing Clients
If you’ve met with a Champlain College Counselor previously and wish to continue working with them, please contact them directly via email. Contact counselingcenter@champlain.edu if you do not know your counselor’s email address or would like to schedule an appointment with a different counselor than who you met with previously.
Same Day Appointments
The Counseling Center offers same-day appointments to students with urgent needs between 9:00 AM¨C3:30 PM.
To use this service, please walk into the office and request to meet with the ˇ°triage clinician.ˇ± If the triage clinician is free, they will meet with you immediately. If they are assisting another student in crisis, they will meet with you as soon as they are able to.?You are welcome to wait in our waiting room until the clinician is available to meet with you.
Same-day appointments are specifically focused on problem solving vs. processing longer-term themes. These appointments are an opportunity to explore immediate ways to cope with stress, to problem solve, or receive crisis support. If you think you would benefit from speaking to someone on a more consistent basis, we suggest making an appointment.
After-Hours | Emergency Consultation & Intervention
If you are in a life-threatening situation, please call 911 or go directly to the Emergency Department of the nearest hospital. The UVM Medical Center is the closest hospital to Champlain’s campus.
