Sarah George

Biography

Sarah George is the Chittenden County State’s Attorney. She has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the University of Connecticut, a Masters Degree in Forensic Psychology from Castleton State College, and a Law Degree from Vermont Law School. For over six years, Sarah was a Deputy State’s Attorney in the Chittenden County State’s Attorney’s Office, and in January 2017, Sarah became the Chittenden County State’s Attorney. Chittenden County houses nearly one third of Vermont’s population, is the most diverse county in the State, and prides themselves on their progressive approach to public safety efforts. Since being State’s Attorney, Sarah has focused on ways to overhaul the criminal legal system by finding innovative ways to serve her community. From significantly reducing the number of cases charged and increasing diversion eligibility, to eliminating cash bail and decreasing supervision and incarcerative sentences, Sarah is dedicated to providing opportunity, intervention and wholistic support to victims, families and folks who commit crimes; holding individuals accountable, and implementing smart strategies and innovations that promote safe, healthy, and strong communities.

Jenna Giguere

Biography

Jenna (she/her) is the current Coach of the Champlain College Dance Team and weekly Yoga Instructor through Student Activities. Growing up as a dancer & mover, Jenna has been drawn to all types of movement as a connection to our bodies, minds, and spirit.

Jenna’s passion for teaching and mentorship has been evident in her work as Dance Coach for the Champlain College Dance Team for the past 7 years. Her goal as a dance and yoga teacher is to cultivate a safe space for students to find what they need through movement, whatever that looks like!

Champlain College holds a special place for Jenna, as she is an alumni- graduated in 2015 with a BS in Marketing & Digital Interactions. She also worked closely with Student Activities during her four years at the college as President of CHAMP, student activities planner, and Orientation Leader. Since then, she has worked primarily in the performing arts in 足彩胜负14场 at the Flynn, Vermont Youth Orchestra Association, and currently at 足彩胜负14场 City Arts.

Jenna also currently teaches yoga at Sangha Studio, owns a local dance company, ‘merde!’, and works with many local artists and businesses. She has a love for non-profit arts administration, vintage clothing, theater and dance, local food, farmers markets, swimming holes, and her street bike in the summer. Oh and a freshly grown tomato from anyone’s garden!

A perfect day in Vermont would be the sun shining, a stop at 足彩胜负14场 Farmers Market for an iced coffee, a bouquet of local flowers, and a donut! Followed by anything to do with Lake Champlain, kayaking or paddle boarding! After a long day, dinner at small local restaurants like Poco, Taco Gordo, or May Day – to enjoy really great cocktails and unique food!

Stephan Giles

Biography

Steve Giles is an Adjunct Professor at Champlain College where he has been a faculty member since 2015.

Steve completed his Master’s in computer science from Colorado Technical University and has Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Colorado.

His expertise lies in applying emerging technologies and computer science to extend and improve the quality of life for individuals. Steve spent twenty-five years developing software to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, with a specialization in breast cancer. He is a lifelong athlete having completed ten Ironman Triathlons and numerous ultra marathons.
He believes through hard work and dedication we can accomplish anything.

Distinctions & Awards

– Ironman Triathlon, All World Athlete. Ranked in the top 10 percent of finishers. This triathlon distance requires a 2.4 mile swim (3.9K), 112 mile bike (180.2K), and 26.2 mile run (42.2K).

Ryan Gillen

Biography

As Manager of The Leahy Center for Digital Forensics & Cybersecurity, Ryan helps oversee & optimize all research, projects, and grants at the center. Also an adjunct professor in CNCS, he teaches an advanced topics course & Enterprise Virtualization. Previously, as Project Manager for Cyber Range, Ryan led a student team dedicated to designing cyber attack simulations for The United States Secret Service. Prior to that, his experience as a Security Engineer involved delivering security services to Vermont organizations.

Student focused, Ryan is thoroughly passionate about maximizing the student experience, their professional growth, and helping LC graduates land great jobs.

Ryan’s current interests in the field are: The intersections of AI & Cybersecurity, Adversary Simulation, Red Team Operations, and automation.

Vance Gillis

Biography

Vance Gillis is the Student Life Manager for the Montreal campus, as well as a facilitator, writer and event producer. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Vance studied at Toronto Film College and served as the Education Director at Toronto’s Bad Dog Theatre Company. In 2020 he took over the new Montreal Improv Theatre as its Artistic Director, heading up their education and entertainment programming. He’s also produced multiple comedy festivals, including Mprov and Summer Fling, and has performed and produced at Just For Laughs (Montreal), Del Close Marathon (New York), SOLOS Festival (Montreal), COMBUSTION Festival (Toronto) and Montreal Fringe Festival.

In his spare time, Vance likes to teach and perform improv comedy. He also enjoys cooking, exercising, playing video games, and going to the movies.

Liz Gillis

Biography

Historian Liz Gillis is from the Liberties in Dublin. She is Student Life Manager at Champlain College Dublin and teaches the Irish History class. She is the author of six books about the Irish Revolution and has worked as a researcher/contributor on numerous publications, television and radio documentaries covering the Irish revolutionary period.

Liz was the Historian in Residence for South Dublin County Council for the Decade of Centenaries and worked as a Researcher for the History Show on RTE Radio. She was a Historical Consultant for the new Custom House Visitor Centre and was a Curatorial Assistant in RTE, specializing in researching the Easter Rising and a tour guide for many years in Kilmainham Gaol.

In 2018 Liz was a recipient of the Lord Mayor’s Award for her contribution to history.

Raelyn Gladstone

Biography

Raelyn is passionate about working closely with students to ensure that all their needs are met when they come through the doors of Champlain College. Understanding how students define their own success and providing them with the tools they need to achieve their goals is part of the job she really enjoys. She also works hard to ensure that all students learn what self-advocacy looks like for them. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Sociology, and she also pursued a minor in Special Education. Staying in the 足彩胜负14场, VT area was a no-brainer because of all the opportunities for growth and development, both personally and professionally. Before coming to Champlain College in 2023, she had worked with students of all ages. From preschoolers to college students, her experience working with students is comprehensive. The desire to work with students utilizing the services of the Office of Accessibility came from the knowledge that education is not always accessible to students, and she wants to make that less of a reality for our students.

Lindsey Godwin

Biography

Lindsey Godwin, Ph.D. is a professor, practitioner, and possibilitizer who has a passion for creating transformational learning spaces for individuals and organizations. She holds a Master of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution George Mason University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, where she studied with the founding thought leaders in Appreciative Inquiry. She currently holds the Robert P. Stiller Endowed Chair of Management in the Stiller School of Business at Champlain College (Vermont, USA), where she also serves as the Academic Director of the David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry (AI) and the lead faculty for the MS in Leadership and MS in Organization Development & Human Relations programs. An acclaimed instructor, she earned the Edward Lyman Phelps Professorship, Champlain College’s highest recognition for a faculty member. A sought-after international speaker, consultant, facilitator, and author, her article on “Earthshot OD” was recently named one of the most impactful articles of all time for the field of Organization Development. Adam Goldstein

Biography

Adam Goldstein is an Associate Professor and an Academic Program Director in Cybersecurity at Champlain College. He also serves as Academic Director of the Leahy Center for Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity at Champlain where he helps oversee undergraduate students working on a wide range of projects. Adam has vast industry experience as an information security officer having previously established cybersecurity operation programs at Dartmouth College and Villanova University. With over 20 years’ experience in information security at institutions of higher education and a background in systems and network engineering, he has a thorough understanding of the unique security challenges in the modern enterprise. Adam received his BA from Rutgers University, a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University, and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensic Science from Champlain College. He is a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Outside of work, Adam is an avid distance runner and greatly enjoys living and exploring the Green Mountains of Vermont with his family.

Marla Goldstein

Biography

Quite a few years ago, Marla was a reference department assistant in high school until she graduated and left home for college. She has always appreciated the wonder, resourcefulness, and peaceful environment of a library, and was thrilled when a part time position opened at MIC. Outside of the library you can find Marla walking down by the lake and talking on the phone with her long distance friends, using her air fryer, and watching niche YouTube videos of international homesteading, gardening, and off-grid living.

What are your hobbies?

Experimental/maximalist fashion, closet organizing, swimming in rivers with flippers and goggles, playing Koosh with my best friend Sarah, talking on the phone, listening to gossip podcasts, painting decorative birdhouses and stretching

Linda Goodrum

Biography

Linda has been the Academic Operations Manager for the Core Division since she joined Champlain College in January of 2012. She works directly with the Dean of the Core as well as 28 full time faculty and 25 part time faculty. She is located in Aiken Hall, Room 300 (Dean’s Suite) and is available from 7:30-4pm Monday through Friday. Stop on by for any questions you may have regarding the Core Division.

Neil Groberg

Biography

Neil Groberg has transformed his legal career and now dedicates himself exclusively to teaching, mediation, arbitration, training, and facilitation throughout the Northeast.

Neil has been teaching at Champlain since 2016. He has taught “Innovation, Ideation and Strategy” to CCO M.B.A. students; Health Care Law and the Senior Capstone to students seeking the B.S. in Health Care Administration with Champlain College 足彩胜负14场; the Health Care law course to Master’s CCO students and Employment Law for Champlain’s traditional residential students. He has created a “Navigating Public Bureaucracy” for the new CCO Master’s in Public Administration degree program. He has also successfully mentored students to finish in first or second place in Champlain’s renowned Elevator Speech contest.

His law firm, Neil Groberg Attorney at Law LLC, was established in 1998. He has over thirty years’ experience as an employment and benefits attorney in for-profit, government, and non-profit institutional settings. He moved to 足彩胜负14场 Vermont from Connecticut in 2008 and is admitted to practice law in Connecticut, New York, and Vermont.

Invaluable to his teaching, Attorney Groberg’s experience also includes a broad range of legal issues including employment, health care, business practices, general corporate, commercial real estate, computer, contracts, employee benefits, insurance, real estate and tax law. This array of experience allows a special sensitivity to the impact of the law on overall business decisions and results and has directly involved him with strategic business decisions.

Neil received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. In addition, Attorney Groberg also has taken three separate leadership skills programs and intensive mediation and arbitration courses. He has completed all six separate Improvisation intensive 6-week courses available, a MOTH Story telling program, intensive Stand-Up comedian courses and has been a member of independent improv groups. All of this “comedic” training and performing has improved his creativity, listening, and communication skills, as well as sharpening his wit.

Professor Groberg has also taught online master’s level courses at Quinnipiac University and online undergraduate courses at Goodwin College.

Murat Gungor

Biography

Dr. Gungor holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer and Information Science, which he obtained in 2006 and 2001 respectively, from Syracuse University in New York. He also holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Sakarya University in Turkey, which he completed in 1997.

Dr. Gungor brings a wealth of experience to his current position at Champlain College, having previously taught Software Engineering courses at both Bilkent University and TOBB University in Ankara, Turkey. In addition to his academic background, he has also held various positions in the industry, ranging from researcher and software engineer to project manager and director.

His primary areas of expertise include object-oriented programming, software architecture, design and development, structural analysis, and quality improvement.
