2. Priority for Popular Majors: ED applicants receive closer consideration for competitive majors with enrollment caps, increasing your likelihood of securing a spot in your desired program.
3. Early Admission Decision: You’ll receive your admission decision months ahead of Regular Decision applicants, allowing you to plan your college journey well in advance.
4. Same Financial Aid Consideration: Applying ED ensures you receive the same financial aid consideration as all other applicants, giving you an early estimate of potential aid packages.
5. Priority Housing Preference: When you choose ED, you’ll receive priority housing preference, including the opportunity to live in a charming Victorian-era mansion on campus.

By choosing Early Decision, you demonstrate your enthusiasm for Champlain College and position yourself for a head start on your academic and personal success.

The Early Decision deadlines is November 15

Students who apply Early Decision will receive their decision by mid-December and will have first consideration for admission to Champlain College (this is particularly useful for students who are applying for competitive majors with number caps). This application is binding, meaning students who are admitted agree to deposit and enroll at Champlain College.

Students who apply Early Action will receive their decision by the beginning of January and will be considered for admission ahead of Regular Decision students. This application is non-binding, meaning students who are admitted may accept or decline their admission to Champlain College.

The earlier you apply, the less competitive the application process will be.

Yes. Please submit any additional materials as soon as possible to be considered for admission. We cannot review your file without your portfolio. Please be sure to follow the portfolio submission guidelines for your major.

To provide our incoming class with a prompt preliminary estimate of Federal Financial Aid, we request that families complete the CSS Profile Lite application at the time of applying for admission. When it is available, applicants will also need to fill our the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to get an official Federal Financial Aid package.

As long as we receive your CSS Profile information before the Early Decision deadline of November 15, your estimated financial aid will be included in your admissions packet. If we do not receive your CSS Profile information before that date, you will still receive a financial aid offer with your merit scholarship eligibility.

The Office of Financial Aid will send you a revised financial aid offer, including your need-based federal, state, and institutional aid, after you submit your FAFSA.

As long as we receive your CSS Profile and FAFSA prior to the January 3 deadline, you will receive a financial aid offer within 3 weeks of your acceptance to Champlain (usually closer to 7-10 days). If we do not receive your FAFSA prior to this date, you will still receive your merit scholarship eligibility.

The Office of Financial Aid will send you a revised aid offer, including your need-based federal, state, and institutional aid, once you have completed a FAFSA.

Based on the AP exam taken and the AP score, approved students will receive course credit. College credit may be awarded on the basis of course work at another institution and the final grade. You can learn more about this on the Office of the Registrar website.
