Boston Globe: Managing Finances As A Recent Grad
Director of the Center for Financial Literacy at Champlain College, John Pelletier, is featured in the Boston Globe, providing thought leadership on managing finances as a recent college or high school graduate.
It’s never too early to start learning about managing finances and how to be smart with your money. That’s where Pelletier comes in. His life’s work is dedicated to increasing awareness for the need of financial literacy education at an early age. Teach it early, and people will start making good decisions as soon as they begin making money.
In this Boston Globe article titled, “For recent grads, or those who¡¯ve come into new money, some tips on managing finances,” Pelletier talks about the importance of understanding compound interest and investing over time.
¡°If I could teach [people] one thing, it would be to understand how compound interest works,¡± he says in the article. ¡°Understand the math behind it. Understand how it can help you to meet your investment goals and how, with debt, it can bankrupt you.¡±
