Nightmare Vermont

Nightmare Vermont is an interactive haunted house in Essex Junction raising money to donate to different charitable organizations in Vermont. Last year, they donated $32,000 to the Champlain Valley Exposition for upkeep of the Grandstand in time for the annual Champlain Valley Fair. Patrons experience a scare maze, narrative walk-through performance, and live entertainment.

The Great Vermont Corn Maze

The Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville is known as the biggest corn maze in New England; their largest maze covering 24 acres. They also have a scenic maze, which is shorter and allows people to see the interesting parts of the Big Maze, without as much of the hike. Both mazes have interesting discoveries and surprises along them. They also have several nights called ¡°Dead North: Farmland of Terror,¡± where the corn maze is riddled with haunted beings in the night. Dead North tickets should be purchased ahead of time in order to secure a spot. This corn maze is not only a fall activity, it opens on August 1st every year.

If you haven’t been to East Corinth, Vermont yet, this fall is your chance!

Although the popular movie Beetlejuice is based in Connecticut, many scenes were filmed in a small town in Vermont, called East Corinth. Driving down Main Street, you will recognize buildings that were featured in the movie. On Chicken Farm Road, you will find a bridge featured in the movie, although it is no longer a covered bridge. A lot has changed since the mid-1980s, but there are definitely some aspects to the town that are all-too-familiar.

Whitcomb¡¯s Land of Pumpkins and Corn Maze

If you¡¯re looking for a more tame Halloween event, like carving pumpkins, be sure to visit Whitcomb¡¯s Land of Pumpkins and Corn Maze in Williston! They are said to have some of the best pumpkins and gourds around, and their farm is only a 20 minute drive from campus. Hop into a car with a few friends and spend a couple hours in the pumpkin patch. It¡¯s also a great place for taking pictures for your Instagram!
